Banach spaces and optimization : Conference on the occasion of Robert Deville’s 60th birthday

First announcement

Dear Colleague,

In 2019 our friend Robert Deville will celebrate his 60th birthday. We think that it is a perfect opportunity for organizing a conference on the borderline of Banach space geometry, real analysis, optimization and all other fields that Robert’s work has influenced.

It is thus our pleasure to announce that the Conference on the occasion of Robert Deville’s 60th birthday will take place from June 16 to June 21, 2019 in Métabief, France. Métabief is a mountain village near the city of Besançon where Robert got his first full-time appointment some 30 years ago.

Main speakers

Daniel Azagra - Universidad Complutense Madrid
Aris Daniilidis - Universidad de Chile
Estibalitz Durand-Cartagena - UNED, Madrid
Gilles Godefroy - CNRS, Université Pierre et Marie Curie

Petr Hájek - Czech Technical University and Czech Academy of Sciences
Jesús Jaramillo - Universidad Complutense Madrid

The deadline for the registration is May 12, 2019. Notice though that the capacity of the venue might be reached before the deadline, in which case people who registered earlier will be given priority. The deadline to benefit from the early bird discount is March 15, 2019.

Participants will have the possibility to give a short talk. Graduate students and others beginning their mathematical career are encouraged to participate.

This conference is part of the special program "Les conférences du LmB" supported by the Région Bourgogne Franche-Comté.

We are looking forward to meeting you in Franche-Comté.
